Please refer to the BMI guidelines & criteria below to see whether you qualify for Weight Loss Surgery, as a an Insured Bariatric patient with Dr Hatzifotis at Greenslopes Private Hospital:

• BMI >35                              -   Regardless of the presence, absence, or severity of comorbidities
• BMI 30 - 34.9                     -   Who do not achieve substantial or durable weight loss or comorbidity improvement using non-surgical                                                    methods.                                                    
• BMI >30                              -   With Type 2 Diabetes     
• Other BMI                         -   Occasionally BMI outside of this range if you have had previous Bariatric surgery
• Age                                      -   Aged over 18, however in special circumstances may be aged 15 years or over 70 years
• Gold Tier membership - Top Cover with a Health Fund to be fully covered for weight loss surgery
• Contact Health Fund  - Phone your Health Fund prior to surgery to confirm adequate Health Insurance. This is a patient’s responsibility to confirm level of cover
• 12 Months Wait Period  -  If you have recently become a member of a Health Fund, you will need to wait a 12 month        waiting period
